Weather Awareness: During the daytime, the valley acts as a wind tunnel. The sun is also exceptionally intense at this altitude. Keep your tarp ready and well-secured to provide both shade and a windbreak for your kitchen or sitting area.

River Access: You can use the small river flowing nearby for general purposes and even for bathing. However, keep in mind that the water is glacial and will be bracingly cold!
