Camping by the Tranquil Bhamariya Lake – A Hidden Gem Near Jambughoda Sanctuary

Nestled close to Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary and not too far from Pavagadh, Vadodara (Gujarat), lies a serene and relatively unknown lakeside campsite — Bhamariya Lake. Located near the quaint village of Bhamariya, this spot turned out to be one of the best free campsites we’ve experienced in the region.

The roads leading up to the campsite are mostly in good condition, though they get narrow towards the end. But once you arrive, the effort is totally worth it. The lake sits quietly amidst nature, offering calm views and cool breezes — ideal for a peaceful escape. It’s also a great spot for group camping, with enough flat open space to easily accommodate 8–10 cars.

What truly made the experience special was the warmth of the local villagers. They're friendly and welcoming, and we recommend giving back by ordering some local food, tea, or even going on a boat ride if available. It not only enhances your experience but also supports the local economy.

We camped right by the lakeside, enjoyed a starry sky, and woke up to the sound of birds and rippling water — nature at its best. The place is still clean and unspoiled, so make sure you leave no trash behind, avoid loud noise, and respect the environment and community.

If you're looking for an offbeat, peaceful, and group-friendly camping spot in Gujarat, Bhamariya Lake should definitely be on your list.
